I am making this change because we are producing some rustic furniture and crafts from our recycled wood and it is Gourd Season; MY PASSION! so, to un-clutter, this will be painted gourds, and hand made furniture and crafts. This is the new Announcement on www.jennifergoode.etsy.com I have been doing some cleaning out and organizing everywhere in my life. My "Assertive" Personality (as a past counselor called it) took over and I dove back into our tree service business. It is hard to have a business with your husband, it is hard to know your role. I have tried jumping in head first and being out front and vocal like I have a habit of doing and I think that freaked him out that he was loosing control. I have stepped back and worked more on my crafts and then he tells me I don't help him and can't understand why I can't put that time and energy into our business. So last night I thought about how I want some things to go and became assertive again and cleaned out the shop to become very Tree Service oriented. I delegated work to my husband and Zack, who works for us and started my plan. Plan your work, Work your Plan! I'll let you know how it goes.

As far as my Etsy organization I uncluttered my shops. John has been cutting the most beautiful boards out of his tree removals; walnut, cherry, cedar and poplar. So, my www.jennifergoode.etsy.com is for our earth friendly wood, furniture and gourds and www.epicepoch.etsy.com is for vintage finds and hand painted cottage style decor and furniture. It is a hard decision for me because I have a bunch of hearts at my jennifergoode shop, but it was what I intended when I began this, I just got distracted by all the fun vintage. Tonight I am going to hit the hay early because I was up late last night with my plan.

I Made the Front Page

I made the front page! I saw it was a collection of cottage style decor and thought I might get some extra hits on my site this morning, then as I was looking at them I saw it! The suitcase I listed just last night. I'm so glad I worked late! I could scream I'm so excited!

Headed Home

I think John is headed home today from New Orleans! I am excited to see him home, and it is getting a little busy! I have been doing about 2 bids a day so our job board is filling up. I can do about 1/3 of them and the rest needed him there. I was getting worried about when to do the jobs and how to open the shop up. The plan is still to open up this Thursday, Friday and Saturday to sell our vintage stuff and I have a few people that are already planning on coming. I had a chair featured in the Alfresco Gift Guide on Etsy yesterday and it was in the first position so it was shown on the front page over and over. It then sold last night. I'll show it off here. It was fun. I have another folding chair like it about to be finished this morning. Can't wait!

Take it Easy on Mom

I lost my voice yesterday.  I love it!  After the frustration of trying to get people to listen I gave up and just went about my own stuff.  Everyone around me was quiet since  I was quiet, and I didn't have to talk on the phone or talk to everyone at school.  I have been sick for 3 days now which is really strange for me.  I can't remember the last time I was sick.  Not that I haven't felt bad, but I haven't been sick, in bed, can't get up.   Well this time I was like that for half a day, but mom's can't really take time to be sick.  I just told my husband that my throat hurt and I can't get comfortable and he told me to get out of bed then.  I told him I felt exhausted at 9am and now it is 7pm and I just got in bed.  GRRRRRR  He is so worried that he is going to get it.  I have been working on all the cottage decor projects I have been collecting.  I have finished at least one a day and they have been getting tons of views on my etsy site and selling also.  I will post a couple from the last few days. 

A Productive Sale Day

I love fridays and visiting garage sales and meeting people at them!  This week I had the truck so many new treasures to come.  I am going to make this short so I can get to sanding and painting.  I finished my quickbooks last night so that is a huge goal checked off the list and weight off my shoulders.  Onward and upward now!  John is working in Arkansas and has 15 trees to finish today.  He has climbed 8 already this morning.  I miss him and worry about him.   I listed this antique fireplace mantle/shelf and have had a lot of views, so it is interesting to note how vintage furniture does on my etsy site.  More to come.  I seem to work on projects in spurts; furniture, gourds, knitting..... may be the A.D.D.  lol
